Four in a Row is a quick strategy game for two players. Take turns dropping coloured discs into a grid of seven columns and six rows. The first player to line up four of their discs in a row, column or diagonal wins.
It is simple to learn but has real depth: the Hard computer looks a dozen moves ahead.
How to play Four in a Row
- Red goes first. Tap a column (or press 1 to 7) to drop a disc. It falls to the lowest empty space.
- Take turns. Try to line up four of your discs across, down or diagonally.
- Block your opponent whenever they have three in a line with a free space.
- If the grid fills up with no four in a row, the game is a draw.
Tips
- The middle column is the most valuable: play there early.
- Look for moves that create two threats at once. Your opponent can only block one.
- Be careful about filling a column under your opponent's threat.
