Pool
Break, call your group and sink the 8-ball last. Fouls give your opponent ball in hand. Aim with the mouse or a finger, pull back to set power.
8-ball pool is played with a cue ball and fifteen numbered balls: solids (1–7), stripes (9–15) and the black 8-ball. One player takes the solids and the other the stripes, and the winner is the first to pot their whole group and then the 8-ball.
Our table uses real physics: balls collide and spin, and the pockets have real jaws, so a ball only drops when it enters the pocket cleanly. Aim with the guide, add top, back or side spin, and set your power.
How to play Pool
- Break the rack. The table is open until someone pots a ball; that player then owns that group (solids or stripes).
- Aim by moving the mouse or dragging on the table. The guide line and ghost ball show where the cue ball will go.
- Pull back to set the power, then release to shoot. On a phone, use the power bar.
- Keep shooting while you pot your own balls. A miss passes the turn.
- Pot the 8-ball last to win. Potting it early, or scratching on it, loses the game.
Tips
- Think about where the cue ball will stop, not just the ball you are potting.
- Use backspin to stop the cue ball, and topspin to follow through.
- Softer shots are more accurate and less likely to rattle out of the jaws.
Questions
What counts as a foul?
Potting the cue ball, missing every ball, hitting the wrong group first, or no ball reaching a cushion after contact. Your opponent then gets ball in hand anywhere on the table.
Can I practise alone?
Yes. Choose Practice to clear the table with no opponent.
Is there a shot clock?
Online games can use one, set by the host. Solo games are untimed.
